Children of Grace
Children's Ministry
Children are of great importance at Grace Lutheran Church. We have a high value to encourage faith development within the home. We try to support, encourage, and empower parents in fostering faith in Jesus within their family.
The variety of children's programs includes: Sunday school each
Sunday at 9:20am (parent's are invited to help in the Fireside Room). We
have an exciting music program for children that include choir, tone
chimes, solo or small group voice coaching. First communion classes are
offered twice a year for children, as they are ready. To help children
foster self-esteem and personal development we offer an after school
theater and music group. Children in 4th grade and older are trained
to help serve at the altar.
A special worship is set aside twice a year for children to present
example of their witness. Each Sunday children are excused during the
sermon time to have the gospel message delivered at their intellectual
level. For small children we have a qualified child care provider
during each worship. Children are not only the future of our church
life, but also our present.
Sunday School for young Christians is held every Sunday with an opening in the sanctuary at 9:20.
TAG Performing Arts Club - Thursdays, 3:30 in the choir room. 4th grade through high-school perform contemporary praise music in small groups or solos for church service. Will also be working on the spring musical "The Lion, The Witch & The Wardrobe."
Afterschool Care - Monday through Thursday, after school until 5:30pm in the Fireside Room. All students are welcome to read, write, study and just hang out. Computers with Internet and basic school supplies are available for use.
Summer Vacation Bible School: A week long camp for children in Kindergarten through 5th grades is conducted each summer, with a different theme each year. Both neighbors and members' children are welcome, and parents are invited to assist to make this a wondrous time for young minds and hearts!
